Montage Deer Valley

Pendry Park City at Park City Mountain Resort is known for its warm, lively atmosphere that welcomes families with high-quality experiences for all ages. Parents can take advantage of Pendry’s Kids Night Out childcare on weekends to attend Ash & Oak, a whiskey and woodburning experience, or settle in for a quiet night by the heated pool. The Waldorf Astoria Park City, conveniently located near Park City Mountain Resort, offers amenities that make every family stay fun and exciting — even off the slopes. Families can be pulled through snow-covered meadows on a dogsled or take a guided snowmobile tour through winter wonderlands. Afterward, they can head back to the resort for relaxing massages at the spa or sit around the fire, enjoying hot chocolate. Kids will love letting their imaginations run wild playing in their own Little Miners’ Camp, thoughtfully set up by hotel staff, ensuring a stay at the Waldorf Astoria is one for the books.

Near Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City has excellent lodging options for families skiing in Big or Little Cottonwood Canyon, especially for those looking to explore more of what the city has to offer outside of winter sports.

Snowpine Lodge

Located in beautiful Little Cottonwood Canyon, Snowpine Lodge is the perfect spot for families skiing at Alta and looking for a luxurious stay just outside the city. The Nest and Little Nest are cozy, fully-stocked game rooms for all ages with foosball, ping pong, arcade games and a movie theater with regular showings. The Little Nest provides a space for children under 14 to relax and unwind with board games, picture books and a ball pit. Snowpine’s restaurant and pub, Swen’s and The Gulch, provide accessible and delicious meals for the whole family.

The Cliff Lodge at Snowbird

The Cliff Lodge is located at Snowbird Ski Resort, with the mountains right outside the door, a personal ski locker and three dining options close by. Snowbird itself offers unbeatable childcare options for kids up to 12 years old. Guided by licensed childcare professionals, children have access to their own ski runs, a chairlift and other outdoor adventures. Adults with specific passes can claim a Kids Freeloader Pass, which provides unlimited skiing to those 18 years old and younger, a deal families won't want to miss.

The Inn at Solitude

Right in the heart of the village at Solitude Mountain Resort, The Inn offers immediate access to a world-class resort, ski-in/ski-out services and mountain views. Families can choose accommodations with up to five bedrooms and a full kitchen to feel like a home away from home. Relax after a day of skiing by the outdoor heated pool and hot tubs or by spending time in the game room. To complete the winter getaway dream, families can enjoy holiday visits with Santa Claus and nightly s’mores roasting. Plus, when guests stay three nights, they get a fourth night free!

Little America Hotel

In the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, Little America Hotel gives families a classic and relaxing stay with easy access to ski resorts (10 within an hour of downtown) along with many urban attractions in the city (Read: 12 Family-Friendly Activities Near SLC). After a day skiing in Big or Little Cottonwood Canyon, guests can return to the hotel and relax in spacious rooms, order room service or play in the pool.

Ogden

Columbine Inn

Staying at the Columbine Inn, owned by the Cobabe family for the past 30 years, gives families a ski experience they can't find anywhere else. Located slopeside at Powder Mountain in Eden, your next run is just outside the door with ski-in/ski-out access. Many of the properties have full kitchens and fire pits, and the inn even offers grocery delivery and in-room babysitting, securing Columbine as a top choice for families.

Near Provo

A spectacular experience awaits families heading south of Salt Lake City.

Sundance Mountain Resort

Sundance Mountain Resort is ideal for families, blending a wide array of activities with diverse lodging choices and amenities. Their acclaimed Ski & Snowboard School caters to all ages with private and group lessons, while adventurous family members can experience the Winter ZipTour (participants must be at least 10 years old, with a minimum weight of 50 lbs and height of 48"). In Provo Canyon, near Sundance Mountain Resort, Stewart Mountain Lodging offers a first-class stay for families.
