Welcome to the Official Visit Utah GeoTour

Utah is one of the best geocaching destination, and the Utah Office of Tourism launched the official Visit Utah GeoTour. The Utah Geotour takes you on a high-tech scavenger hunting adventure among Utah’s spectacular natural wonders and thought-provoking cultural heritage sites and earn your own collectible geocache patches along the way.

Whether geocaching is your focus or a companion adventure, Utah is a complete outdoor destination. Build an itinerary through Utah’s stunning Mighty Five® national parks — Arches, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, Bryce Canyon and Zion — multiple national monuments and recreation areas, 43 state parks and millions of acres of pristine wilderness. You can explore soaring mountain peaks over 13,000 feet above sea-level among one of six national forests and surreal red rock canyons and desert landscapes filled with impossible rock formations. No matter where your journeys take you in Utah, you’ll encounter bucket-list adventure on unforgettable landscapes. And no matter where you wander, you’re sure to be near an official Visit Utah GeoTour cache.

There's treasure in yonder hills.

Get Yours

The Visit Utah GeoTour features five geocaches in each of Utah's 29 counties. That’s 145 caches in all, which makes it one of the largest geotours in the world. Utah tourism professionals worked alongside some of Utah’s most passionate geocachers to select locations characterized by extraordinary scenic beauty and cultural significance. You won’t want to miss any of them! It’s a perfect way to discover Utah’s lesser-known, but incredibly scenic and interesting locations throughout the state.

Found inside each geocache is a code card with a unique code and instructions to redeem GeoTour awards. After you’ve found three of any county’s five caches, go to the survey link found on any GeoTour cache page to claim a beautifully designed patch representative of that county  — so don’t forget to write down each geocache’s unique code once you’ve found it. After you’ve earned 10 patches, claim your Official Visit Utah Geocoin. If you’re ambitious enough to earn all 29 patches, claim your Utah GeoAmbassador Jacket!

To request your Official Visit Utah GeoPassport, please send your name and address to utahgeotour@utah.gov.
