Yes. Snowland is run by the Snowland Foundation Inc., a Utah 501(c)(3) nonprofit, with support from Wasatch Academy, Snow College, the Manti-La Sal National Forest, Sanpete County, Fairview City and the Utah Division of Outdoor Recreation.

Snowland is a nonprofit, community-run ski hill in Fairview Canyon, about an hour from Provo and roughly 90 minutes south of Salt Lake City. The Jerry Nelson family opened it in 1967 and closed it to the public in 1980. In January 2026, Snowland welcomed skiers and snowboarders back after 46 years. The Snowland Foundation runs this ski destination, serving beginner and intermediate terrain, a rope tow and a new surface lift.

New for the 2026/27 Season

A new Ridgeline Express surface lift (expected to open in December 2026) provides access to 80 acres of new terrain, bringing the ski area’s total to 107 acres.
A remodeled lodge and the expanded Main Street rope tow from the January reopening carry over.
The mountain plans to host 200 to 250 skiers and riders a day, keeping its small-community feel.
The Snowland Foundation signed a new special use permit with the U.S. Forest Service, announced Oct. 13, 2026, allowing continued operation and development in the Manti-La Sal National Forest.

The Snowland Lodge Snack Bar offers a warm place to take a break between runs at the base of the mountain. The menu covers burgers, sandwiches, nachos, soup, hot chocolate, coffee cake, trail mix and drinks.
