Key Implementation Updates on the Non-U.S. Resident Surcharge (Specific to Bryce Canyon and Zion)
The $100 surcharge per person applies to non-U.S. residents aged 16 and older at Bryce Canyon and Zion, in addition to the standard entrance fee.
Who is Charged?
Non-U.S. residents aged 16+ are subject to the $100 fee. Children 15 and under are exempt from both the $100 fee and the standard entrance fee.
The fee applies to non-U.S. residents entering on commercial road-based tours (CUA) and to those entering individually/by car without an America the Beautiful Non-Resident Annual Pass ($250).
Commercial Tours/Motorcoaches:
The $100 non-U.S. resident fee applies to every non-U.S. resident visitor age 16+ on commercial road-based tours, in addition to the standard commercial tour vehicle fee.
Bookings Already Made: The fee applies based on the date of entry. Tours entering on or after January 1, 2026, are subject to the non-U.S. resident fee even if the trip was booked earlier.
Verification: Tour operators booking ahead are expected to verify residency prior to arrival.
Verification of Non-U.S. Resident Status: U.S. resident status will be verified by checking an ID (e.g., driver’s license). Visitors will state their age; there is no need for visitors to carry passports or birth certificates for age or residency verification.
America the Beautiful Pass: The America the Beautiful Non-Resident Annual Pass ($250) covers the non-U.S. resident surcharge fee for the pass holder. Non-U.S. residents who have an America the Beautiful Annual Pass will not be charged the individual non-U.S. resident fee when entering any park, whether privately or as part of a commercial group.
For locations or areas that charge fees per vehicle, the Non-Resident Annual Pass covers the non-U.S. resident surcharge fee for the pass holder and all passengers in one non-commercial vehicle, or up to two motorcycles.
For a non-U.S. resident entering as part of a commercial group, the pass will cover the non-U.S. resident fees for four people.
