Red Butte Garden

A mountainous arboretum overlooking the valley
Red Butte Garden is the largest botanical garden in the Intermountain West and together with the University of Utah, is a state arboretum. The garden is located on the foothills on the Wasatch mountains, and has beautiful views overlooking the Salt Lake Valley and Great Salt Lake. Learn more about Red Butte Garden

Things to know:

  • Check if a summer concert is scheduled because it causes early closures
  • Closed on Thanksgiving and around the Christmas and New Years holidays
  • There is no direct public transportation to Red Butte Garden though there are options that will get you close to the Visitor Center and Amphitheater. Learn more
