Northern Utah Geocaching
Though we often describe it as "tranquil" Northern Utah for all the serene beauty and thriving agriculture, the northern part of the state is also abundant in outdoor recreation, including extensive trail systems for mountain biking and hiking, stunning earth art and migratory bird spots and great adventure base camps in Brigham City, Logan, Garden City and more.
Box Elder County: Between the steep Wellsville Mountains and the fascinating Great Salt Lake, search for the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge, Golden Spike National Historic Site, Spiral Jetty Earth Art and the fall harvest along the historic Fruit Highway.
Cache County: Explore Cherry Peak and Beaver Mountain ski resort, Stokes Nature Center, the American West Heritage Center and stunning Logan Canyon trails, then hang around Logan, the vibrant college town that is home to Utah State University, great coffee and dining, and famous ice cream.
Morgan County: The rushing Weber River carves through the forested mountains of Morgan County, where area trails become perfect destinations for cachers. Watch for anglers and rafters in this tranquil county, and don't be tempted by Devil's Slide.
Rich County: Utah's turquoise gem of the north is Bear Lake State Park, a high-elevation retreat for boaters and fishers in the summer, winter sports enthusiasts when it snow, and geocachers whenever the urge strikes.
