Top Annual Utah Festivals
The Sundance Film Festival, held in Park City each January, is considered the premier U.S. showcase for American and international independent film.
The Utah Shakespeare Festival is Tony Award®-winning, named "America's Outstanding Regional Theatre" in 2000.
Artists, volunteers and performers — who are Ecuadorian, Samoan, Mexican, Polish, Greek, and more — bring the Living Traditions Festival to life. Presented by the Salt Lake City Arts Council, this 32-year-old festival has played host to the variety of cultures represented in Utah.
The Utah Arts Festival showcases local, national and international artists and has attracted more than two million people, 4,500 performances and 3,600 artists' displays for over 30 years running!
Join tens of thousands in downtown Salt Lake for the Craft Lake City DIY Festival. Discover all things handmade, attend workshops, learn about new technology, eat local, hear live music and see performance art.
Additional Summer Series and Festivals
Join thousands at downtown Salt Lake's Pioneer Park for the outdoor Twilight Concert Series. The series showcases national acts with local openers and are only $5 in advance and $10 day of show.
The annual six-week run of the Utah Festival Opera in Logan, Utah, adds a touch of high-class performing arts to trips through Northern Utah. There is also expanded programming including talks and demonstrations.
Labor Day Weekend and Fall Festivals
The two-day Midway Swiss Days Festival takes place in the beautiful Heber Valley, less than an hour from Salt Lake City. It is one of Utah's largest festivals.
Also in Midway over Labor Day is the Soldier Hollow Classic Sheepdog Championship, a truly thrilling international competition that has grown to become one of the largest of its kind.
The Heber Valley Music & Cowboy Poetry Gathering is one of the most prominent festivals of its type in the country. Every fall, cowboy poets, musicians, storytellers, and jokers meander their way to the two-horse town of Heber City for performances, concerts, Western entertainment, arts and crafts, and more.
Snowbird's Oktoberfest celebrates Germany's finest food, beer and music in the stunning setting of Little Cottonwood Canyon.
Fruit has historical value to Utah, because it was essential to the seasonal and year-round diets of the early settlers, yet it remains vital today. So the harvest season is celebrated throughout Utah at several fruit harvest festivals, some more than a 100 years old.
