Things to Do

Explore the trails by foot, bike or ATV, and in the fall see what wows the park naturalist every year as the leaves turn orange, magenta and purple. In the fall, you're likely to catch glimpses of wild turkeys, moose and elk as they descend to lower elevations with winter approaching. A variety of kid-friendly trails start near the visitor center, including some that are stroller-compatible. Extend your stay to camp in the Pine Creek Campground and to reserve a tee time at one of the four popular 18-hole golf courses.

Park facilities include 122 camping/picnicking areas, modern restrooms, hot showers and utility hookups, one group-use pavilion and four overnight group areas. A day-use entry fee is required, purchase in-person or online. The Annual Utah State Park Pass is accepted for park entry. Advance camping reservations are recommended.

Soldier Hollow Nordic Center

Soldier Hollow Nordic Center at Wasatch Mountain State Park was the Nordic skiing venue for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. Now athletes of world-class ability and weekend recreationists enjoy the facility year-round. In addition to the beautifully manicured cross-country ski trails, Soldier Hollow has 1,200-foot snow tubing lanes, offering tow lifts and night tubing. And in the summer, there are more than 19 miles of trails to bike or hike. Each Labor Day Weekend competitors and their sheepdogs (border collies) from around the world come to Soldier Hollow's Olympic Hillside to test themselves against Utah's legendary Rocky Mountain range ewes.
