Utah Film Commission

Formed in 1974, the Utah Film Commission is a part of the Utah Governor's Office of Economic Development, and is a member of the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI). Our knowledgeable staff is here to assist your production with all of your filming needs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from initial scouts and pre-production to principal photography and post-production. We provide professional and timely consulting to your production questions, and can assist you with the inevitable last-minute changes with your production needs.

More than 800 films and TV movies have been filmed in the Beehive State. Hollywood first discovered Utah in the 1920s when films like Stagecoach were filmed in the southern part of the state. Since then, Utah has been the backdrop for hundreds of films, such as BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID, THELMA & LOUIS, HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL, 127 HOURS and JOHN CARTER.
