Scenery as colorful as a rainbow is waiting to be explored in south-central Utah's Piute County. Rugged canyons, lakes, deserts, and 12,000 foot high mountain peaks offer a variety of things to see and do year round. Quaint western towns throughout the county reflect the pioneer heritage in historic buildings and nostalgic shops like the antique store and the rag rug shop. There are remnants of the booming mining days when prospectors sought - and found - the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Bryce Canyon National Park is a 45 minute drive, and Zion, Capitol Reef, and the Grand Canyon North Rim are short and scenic drives from Piute County. Take time to explore Piute County and discover the magic of the land where the rainbow ends.Utah Office of Tourism
