Due to become one of the western states' premier mountain games events, the Ogden Mountain 2 Metro games will host a variety of other sporting events from trail running to road biking. Designed to showcase the city's proximity to world class mountain recreation opportunities, the games attract a large number of event participants from all over the western U.S.
As other rivers in the nation are drying up this fall, the Ogden River will be raging for the duration of the event because of a recreational release of water from nearby Pineview Resevoir. Water hungry paddlers from all over the state, as well as paddlers from Colorado and Idaho, will make their way to Ogden to compete and enjoy the flow.
