Xin Nian Kuai Le! (Happy New Year!)

Join us to celebrate the Chinese New Year of the Horse! According to the Chinese zodiac, the Year of the Horse begins on January 31, 2014. The sign of the Horse symbolizes character traits of strength, energy and open-mindedness. Ring in the Chinese New Year with this cultural celebration, featuring banners and paper lanterns hung in the City Library, a traditional Chinese lion dance, music, children’s activities, and high-level cultural performance including classical dances, songs, magic shows, and folk instruments. This event is jointly hosted by the Chinese Association for Science and Technology in Utah and the City Library.

The lion dance will start at 1:45pm in the Urban Room, with additional cultural activities continuing at 2pm in the Auditorium.

This year's celebration will also include an exhibit of Chinese Calligraphy, which will be on display in the Lower Urban Room from Jan 27–Feb 1.
